All about triple citizenship: Claim to Three Nationalities to Make Business Easier Across Borders

Just as the term says, “triple citizenship” means holding nationality of three countries simultaneously (one may lay claim to three nationalities). Depending on various countries and their laws, a person can hold dual, triple and even more citizenship at the same time but in many other states, this is considered illegal. You’ll be asked to surrender at-least one citizenship before taking another however, countries that allow dual nationality may also accept three at a time.
Common questions you may ask yourself

What does it mean to be a citizen and what are the rights and responsibilities of a good citizen? If someone isn’t born in a particular country, how can he become a legal citizen of that state? All of these answers are different that depends mostly on laws and various circumstances faced by a person. It’s the right of every national to know relevant answers provided by citizenship laws. For example in America, the Constitution and its amendments interprets the exact definition of the term “citizenship

What are the circumstances that lead to triple citizenship?

Dual nationality is bestowed on a person either through marriage, through adoption of parents who themselves belong to a different country or citizenship by birth. All of these regulate as per United States Office of Personnel Management Investigation Service. Under various circumstances however, person may become a legal citizen or obtain dual nationality through Citizenship by Investment or Naturalization. There’s usually an agreement between countries before they start accepting dual citizenship. Triple citizenship occurs when a person successfully qualifies three factors of three different states.

Countries that acknowledge dual or multiple citizenship

As per the U.K. Border Agency; United Kingdom has no restriction over dual or multiple citizenship. However, if someone’s holding nationality of a country where second citizenship isn’t allowed, he may have to surrender that particular citizenship before being accepted as a British citizen. Otherwise, the initial country has a right to refuse this new nationality therefore identifying your position as per country laws when applying for citizenship is most important.

To obtain triple citizenship, all three countries must agree. To name a few, countries that allow (not encourage) dual citizenship are United States, Canada, France, Barbados and Bulgaria as per U.S. Office of Personnel Management Investigations Service.
States that don’t allow dual/multiple residency
There are many countries that don’t accept multiple nationality for various reasons. Second citizenship can raise legal issues if country laws are contradictory with each other, if states are facing war or under military controversies. It also raises citizen safety issues for there’s difficulty in providing protection abroad. Highlighting a few countries that don’t recognize dual or multiple nationality, we’ve in the list Afghanistan, China, Bahrain, Algeria and Bangladeshin accordance with U.S. Office of Personnel Management Investigations Service.
What are a few exceptions?
A few countries don’t accept dual or multiple nationality as a rule however there’re minor exceptions. For instance; Germany don’t allow dual citizenship but German natives who wish to become citizens of another state can seek government’s consent, allowing them to retain citizens of both states. Since 2000, Germany permits second citizenship unless applicant reaches the age of 23 years. Another example can be of Brazil where dual nationality isn’t recognised but children of Brazilian parents who’re born overseas are granted dual citizenship by birth.
Conclusion
Apart from the details highlighted above, one may refer to citizenship invest programs in order to gain legal nationality of a particular country.
